Can I mark a past paper without the official scheme?

You can, badly. Use the board scheme. Unofficial numerical answers miss method marks and acceptable equivalents.

Does your platform use AQA’s published mark schemes?

No. We mark our original questions against our own mark points. Official schemes remain the boards’ documents.

What is a “B mark” I have seen on some schemes?

Some boards use B for independent marks that do not depend on method. Read the abbreviations on the front of that scheme — they are not identical across every series.
